At School in the 1940s

Peter Lapper went to a school in Catford in the 40s this was the mode of transport, supplied by the LCC. The one in the photo, number 38, looks quite new but Peter remembers them being a bit bashed about. He says the style was flat fronted (full width cab) and just one big door in the back bulkhead. And the attendant used to sit in the corner where the word Ambulance is in the photo. Great fun for us kids bouncing along on those cobbled roads. Enjoy!"
