Rain, hail and sunshine - we had them all. But it didn't stop an estimated 6000 visitors coming to the Dennis Chassis Plant at Dennis Way, Guildford on Saturday. The organisers put on a splendid display and, as well as the chance to visit the very full production lines, there were numerous exhibits concerning the currently available chassis and the history of the company. A continuous photo display took place in the conference meeting room showing an ever changing selection of factory scenes from the past. Technical staff were on hand to give details of current Dennis products. There were shop floor tours with guides describing the production process and many chassis were seen in various stages of assembly. Many members' vehicles were on display, some being employed on the shuttle service to and from Guildford Railway Station or alternatively running on a half-hour tour of local villages. There was of course a welcoming party from the Dennis Society. The photographs show the variety of activities taking place - and the variety of the weather. |
